£72.00

70cl | 47.87% vol

Agave: Angustifolia Haw (Espadín) & Karwinskii Zucc (Madrecuishe)

Picaflor Mezcal celebrates the hummingbird and it's integral role in the pollination of the agave plant. Double distilled in copper pot stills, this artisanal mezcal is hand-crafted mezcal in Mengoli de Morelos. Oaxaca, using traditional techniques ensuring a high quality spirit drink. As its name suggests, Picaflor Wild is an undomesticated and ferocious version of Picaflor.

Aroma: Herbs, rosemary and moist earth

Taste: Sweet start, intense mineral presence

Finish: cooked maguey aftertaste.

AQS

Authenticity: The majority of supplies obtained are sourced from the production site or proximity in Mexico to combat the carbon footprint.

Quality: As for distillation, part of the tails are reused for washing machinery, mixed with lime to neutralise them. In this way, blue copper sediments are avoided. As for the tips, the surplus is reused in the next distillation.

Sustainability: Natural pesticides are used on the crops and the land is cleaned twice a year. No nitrates or fermentation accelerators are used. The wood used is certified and therefore the abusive felling of trees is combated.
