ArteNOM Selección de 1579 Tequila Blanco | 40% abv
70cl | 40% vol
ArteNOM Selección de 1579 Tequila Blanco - at 6,788 feet above sea level in the remote mountain town of Jesús María, Felipe Camarena masterfully crafts this bright, aromatic tequila from stressed hillside agave plants grown in tequila’s highest-altitude agave region. Felipe’s Destilería El Pandillo is arguably one of the most forward-thinking, innovative and sustainable distilleries in the business. After select harvesting, the agave plants are slowly roasted in brick ovens and macerated intact with their fibers for a richer, fuller flavour. Following fermentation with rainwater, Felipe slowly distills this selección in small copper pot stills and aerates the spirit prior to bottling.
Aroma: Spring rain, mint, pastry dough
Palate: Fresh chile, white pepper, spearmint
Finish: Smooth, dry
AQS
Authenticity: Each master distiller owns, manages and overlooks all production from field to pot still to bottling as this way they can ensure high quality control.
Quality: All agave is grown above 4,000ft (sometimes up to 7,000ft) making it the perfect altitude and climate (dry, arid, sunny and hot) to increase the brix content (natural sugar levels) of the agave plant which imparts several flavours to the final tequila result!
Sustainability: The 1579 distillery is built on a gentle hill in Jalisco making every stage of the production gravity-led which reduces energy consumption. The 1414 distillery composts or reuses the agave fibres for fertiliser onto the fields.
